Compare
News in Telegram: channels, RSS bots and Nouly
There are three common ways to get news in Telegram. You can join outlets’ channels, run a bot that forwards RSS feeds into a chat, or use a bot that prepares the news for you. Here’s how they compare, and where Nouly fits.
| Nouly | News channels | RSS bots | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you get | Full stories on your subjects, with sources | Every post the channel publishes | Every item from the feeds you add |
| What you follow | Topics, or keywords you type yourself (Premium) | The channels you join | The feeds you add |
| How much | One briefing every morning | As much as each channel posts | As much as each feed publishes |
| Language | Written in your language | The channel’s language | The feed’s language |
| Setting up | Pick topics in the app | Join channels | Find feed addresses and add them |
What to look for in a Telegram news bot
- Does it follow subjects or sources? Sources give you everything an outlet writes; subjects give you only what you care about.
- Does it send everything, or a set amount? A bot that forwards every item can bury the chats you actually use.
- Can it write in your language? Most bots pass on what they find in the language it was written in.
- Does it show where each story came from? If AI is involved, the sources should be one tap away.
- Can you read it outside Telegram? Some days a laptop browser is the better place to read.
Where channels and RSS bots are the better choice
If you trust a few outlets and want everything they publish, join their channels. If you already have RSS feeds you like, an RSS bot puts them in one chat, usually for free.
Where Nouly fits
Nouly is a Telegram bot and Mini App, and it also runs in any browser at nouly.app/app on the same account. Every morning it brings you the stories on the topics and keywords you choose, each written out in full with its sources, in your language. To start in Telegram, search for @nouly_app_bot and tap Start.
